LEXINGTON, KY <\/strong>\u2013State Farm has committed $10,00 to support the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence\u2019s Commonwealth Institute for Parent Leadership.<\/p>\nThe grants will assist the committee\u2019s efforts to provide training and a comprehensive system of supports to engage and empower parents to become vocal advocates on behalf of educational excellence for all Kentucky children.<\/p>\n

CIPL, conceived by the late Beverly Nickell Raimondo, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. During this time CIPL graduates have been one of the Committee\u2019s most effective tools for realizing the belief that community-grounded leadership is a critical tool for both individual student achievement and school change. With the recent addition of a CIPL class for Spanish speaking families in Northern Kentucky the program can support ELL families by addressing barriers to family engagement and equipping families with the knowledge and confidence to become leaders in their local districts.<\/p>\n
