Prichard Committee President and CEO Brigitte Blom Ramsey facilitated a discussion on the impact of the closures of these facilities with early childhood business leaders and advocates.<\/p>\n<p>Panelists included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sarah Vanover, Director, Division of Child Care, KY Department for Community Based Services<\/li>\n<li>Mike Hammons \u2013 Vice President of advocacy at Learning Grove<\/li>\n<li>Lauren Hogan \u2013 Senior Director of Public Policy and Advocacy at the National Association for the Education of Young Children<\/li>\n<li>Mandy Simpson \u2013 Director of Engagement, Metro United Way<\/li>\n<li>Leshia Lyman \u2013 Vice President, Success By 6, United Way of Greater Cincinnati<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This event followed <a href=\"https:\/\/prichard-backup.com\/July\/prichard-committee-to-host-online-forum-on-the-education-impact-of-covid-19\/\">Monday\u2019s live online event<\/a> about the closures of K-12 schools, colleges and universities, and will be part of a larger series of online conversations about COVID-19\u2019s impact across the education community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the immediate and the longer-term, to ensure a Big Bold Future for Kentucky \u2013 even in the midst of COVID19, we are seeking innovative ways to maintain a focus on student success and support, as well as ways to deepen and expand family and community engagement during this unprecedented time,\u201d said Ramsey. \u201cThese discussions are intended to result in more integrated discussions and solutions that will benefit us now and into the future.\u201d[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday, March 19, the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence hosted a Facebook Live conversation\u00a0 about the daycare and early childhood education impact of COVID-19.
