September Connections 2021

For Families: Take a few minutes this week to email or write a simple note to 1 staff member at your child’s school thanking them for how they support your child. This might be a bus driver, cafeteria worker or school nurse. You never know how big the ripple effect from this kind gesture could be.

For Educators: In classroom newsletters and other parent communication always include a section that says “Ask your child this” and have a few open-ended questions that help families connect to what their child is learning in the classroom. Help families get beyond, “How was your day?” and ”Fine.” One example might be “I hear you are reading about ______ in History class. What has surprised you so far?”
