Congratulations to the Kentucky Board of Education for clearly choosing three exceptional candidates with the capacity to return our state to its place as a national leader in educational improvement – an imperative to prepare Kentucky’s rising generation for a swiftly changing economy.

A focus on teaching excellence as the primary input to K-12 educational improvement must be a priority for the Kentucky Board of Education and the next commissioner, as well as an undeniable commitment to closing academic achievement gaps for students historically underserved.

It will also be critical that the next commissioner work intentionally with higher education leaders to build seamless transitions to college, resulting in the increased educational attainment rate necessary to move Kentucky to the top tier of all states.

At the Prichard Committee we are building a Groundswell for a Big, Bold Future with families, students, and community leaders at the center to fuel our next giant leap forward.

We look forward to working with Kentucky’s next commissioner!
