LEXINGTON, KY – State Farm has committed $10,000 to support the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence’s family engagement work.
The grant will assist the committee’s efforts to provide trainings and a comprehensive system of supports to engage and empower parents to become vocal advocates on behalf of educational excellence for all Kentucky children via the Commonwealth Institute for Parent Leadership (CIPL).
“State Farm’s support is critical as we move to expand this work to all regions in Kentucky,” said Brigitte Blom Ramsey, President and CEO of the Prichard Committee. “State Farm has shown a clear commitment to building excellence for all Kentucky schools and the children they serve.”
The program, conceived by the late Beverly Nickell Raimondo, began in 1997 and has since provided training for more than 2,500 Kentucky parents. Many of these CIPL participants have been elected to local school boards and councils or assumed leadership positions at the state and local levels.
“We’re more than just insurance, we are your community partner and we recognize the value of parent engagement. We have been a proud sponsor of CIPL for many years whether that is in face to face meetings with Kentuckians or in the virtual space in which we find our work currently taking place,” said Tom Bell, a State Farm Insurance Agent in Hopkinsville, Ky.
